Maps, Directions, and Transportation

How to get to campus and where to park or make deliveries once you arrive.

The Scripps shuttle provides transportation between Scripps and the main UC San Diego campus for the UCSD community.

An interactive Google Map identifies Scripps buildings and other campus landmarks.

Public Outreach and Tours

General tours of the campus are offered one Saturday per month.

Scripps Community Outreach for Public Education (SCOPE) connects groups in the general public directly with Scripps science through public speakers and specialized tours.

Birch Aquarium at Scripps is our public exploration center.

Venue Rentals

The Scripps Oceanography campus offers several locations with ocean views. Scripps Seaside Forum, the Martin Johnson House, and Birch Aquarium at Scripps can be rented for weddings, conferences, and other events.


Breakfast and lunch items are available at Caroline's Seaside Cafe, Pinpoint Cafe, and Splash! Cafe at Birch Aquarium.

International Visits

International visitors can apply for short-term visits.


A US Bank ATM is located at Splash! Cafe outside of Birch Aquarium.

Seawater Tap

The seawater tap at the Keck building () is open to the public 24 hours a day. The salt water collected at Scripps Pier and circulated throughout campus is sent through sand filters to remove the larger particles. This is the same seawater that our aquarists use at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps and is often used to fill private saltwater aquariums.
