Executive Board

CIMEC's Executive Board consists of members from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, NOAA leadership, and the Lead Investigators from each of the Partner Institutions.  They are responsible for:

  • making recommendations to the Vice Chancellor of Marine Sciences at UC San Diego for the Directorship of CIMEC
  • reviewing and approve the general policies, research themes, and priorities of CIMEC
  • conducting evaluations, at least biannually, of CIMEC programs and activities, including the budget, with appropriate recommendations
  • approving criteria for appointment of fellows, visiting scientists, institute scientists and postdoctoral fellows
  • recommend such further implementing agreements as may be entered into pursuant to provisions provided in the MOA

Council of Fellows

Comprised of scientists from NOAA, CIMEC, the consortium partners, the greater California scientific community and stakeholders in the southwestern US, the Council of Fellows (CoF) is charged with ensuring that relevant, high quality scientific research is being conducted and to help identify other research opportunities that will maintain and enhance CIMECʼs research program. Thus the CoF is the main planning and consultative council for CIMEC.
