Course Description: 

TENTATIVE

Paleoecological development of marine and terrestrial environments during Earth’s evolution. Ecological and chemical evolution of the oceans, atmosphere, biogeochemical cycles, and environments with particular emphasis on the long-term history and climate of the Earth’s surface. Field trips required. Program and/or course material fee may apply. Graduate level additionally requires (1) term research paper, (2) researched oral presentations during the field trips, and (3) analysis of weekly readings from the current literature.
