Aspects of High Impact Research: Data and Data Visualization at Scripps
An Institutional Seminar and Interactive Workshop
In brief: This special session is specifically directed at (but not limited to) the early career researcher at Scripps, including graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and anyone within 10 years of receiving their PhD or highest equivalent terminal degree. We will discuss current time-saving trends in data handling with an eye toward visual story-telling as well as long-term reuse of research outputs across adjacent domains. Ample time will be devoted to interactively constructing a roadmap for a centralized resource at Scripps to disseminate this information through a continuously curated online clearinghouse.
This will be both an opportunity to both shorten your "time to science" and weigh-in on building an unprecedented 21st century resource for our community.
Steve Diggs: Technical Director, CCHDO
While single-use cups and plates will be available, we are asking everyone to bring their own reuseable items.
The University of California system is committed to going zero waste by 2020, and we’re already diverting 69% of our solid waste from landfills system wide. UC San Diego needs everyone to pitch in with waste reductions efforts. Bring your own plate and cup to the Institutional Seminar instead of using single-use items. #MyLastTrash
