Please join us for the following AOS Seminar on Thursday, January 19th at 4:00PM in Spiess Hall Room 330:
Speaker: Dr. Ana Širović, Scripps Institution of Oceanography
Title: "A decade of adventures in acoustics after AOS"
Sound propagates very well in water, making it a powerful tool to study marine animals and their environment. Dr. Širović has been using sound to study highly exploited and endangered marine species, as well as changes in ocean noise and the effects anthropogenic noise has on marine life. In this seminar, she will present case studies from a decade of work in these areas covering studies of fish, long-term trends in ambient noise across ocean basins, and impact of anthropogenic noise on animals.
Snacks and refreshments will be available at 4:00 pm. Please bring your own cup.
