Speaker: Christopher Roman, University of Rhode Island
Title: "The Wire Flyer profiling vehicle and a bottom imaging Lagrangian float"
This talk will present some recent results from two novel instruments developed at the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography. The Wire Flyer vehicle is an autonomous towed profiling system able to collect high resolution data over specified depth bands down to 1000 meters. Results will be presented from a recent oxygen minimum zone cruise. The Lagrangian imaging float is a bottom following instrument which drifts and carries stereo cameras. Results will be shown from coral reef and scallop fishery surveys.
