Please join us Thursday, April 5th at 5:30 PM for Salty Cinema IV! Our next event will explore the topic of offshore oil & gas and how it can affect the marine environment.
New proposals to the National Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program would make over 90% of the total U.S. outer continental shelf available for consideration for future exploration and development. In contrast, the current program makes only 6% of the outer continental shelf available to drilling. This is the largest number of lease sales in U.S. history.
Featuring selections from short films: "After the Spill," "Dispatches from the Gulf," and "A Sonic Sea."
This event is hosted by CMBC and will be led by Samantha Murray, Executive Director of MAS MBC. Our panel will feature:
Dr. Cynthia Smith - Vice President & Executive Director, National Marine Mammal Foundation
Blake Kopcho - Ocean's Campaigner, Center For Biological Diversity
Judd Boomhower - Environmental & Energy Economics & Policy, UCSD Economics
Brady Bradshaw - Campaign Organizer, Oceana
