Tuesday, May 15 from 2 - 4:15 p.m., please join us at the Scripps Seaside Forum to hear about the research of our Alaskan high school collaborators. These students have contributed significantly to research at Scripps Oceanography through an internship and technology training program called SeaTech. Through this program, the group of predominantly Alaska Native high school students works with Scripps researchers, learning to analyze acoustic data, compiling results, and presenting their findings through oral and poster presentations at academic conferences and an annual symposium at Scripps. This event is a good opportunity for anyone interested in the Arctic, marine mammals, acoustics, or exploring collaborative approaches to science-based education and outreach.
Your attendance would be a most welcome sign of support for this exceptional and diverse group of students. Please feel free to join us for as little or as much as your schedule will allow and share the invitation widely throughout your networks!
