This page contains documents related to the development of an ANSI voluntary standard for towed array passive acoustic monitoring (PAM).  ANSI stands for American National Standards Institute.

(July 17, 2015)  The red column indicates actions that are required/prohibited; the blue column are items that have to be documented in either a planning document, validation document, or briefing document, with the type of the item indicating which kind of document; and green items are recommended best practices.

Example text of how a standard might look, with a focus on the planning document (“Initial planning”).  The intention is to provide a more concrete impression of what a planning (and validation) document may look like, but nothing is sacred.  To throw darts, one needs a target. (July 17, 2015)
