The Scripps Postdoctoral Scholar Program is an annual competitive program that offers joint funding from Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego and extramural sources associated with specific research projects. This program allows one or more recent doctorates to conduct important research in the areas of Oceans & Atmosphere, Biology, and Earth Science.
Scripps’s funding for the annual Postdoctoral Scholar Program is significant as postdoctoral employee positions are typically funded entirely by the scientists who seek them. This program enables bright, talented Ph.D. graduates to aid in critical scientific research and to serve as valuable members of the Scripps community.
Candidates for the Scripps Postdoctoral Scholar Program are required to have completed the Ph.D. degree prior to taking up the appointment, and should have received the degree no earlier than January 1, 2011. Awards are competitive with a major emphasis on potential for independent, creative research.
The 2014 Scripps Postdoctoral Scholar Program is now accepting applications. The deadline for applications is February 1, 2014.
