Soak up an entire week dedicated to sharks this summer at Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. SHARK WEEK runs from July 19-26 and features a week of hands-on explorations for all ages into the world of these mesmerizing and misunderstood ocean predators.
Meet local sharks and their relatives. Discover why sharks are vulnerable and must be protected. Learn from Scripps Oceanography scientists about research discoveries and conservation efforts that may help sustain declining shark populations.
Activities for SHARK WEEK at Birch Aquarium at Scripps are included with admission. The annual celebration of sharks is produced in partnership with Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the Discovery Channel's Shark Week series, airing nationally on cable television nightly at 9 p.m. PST from July 27-31.
SHARK WEEK activities at Birch Aquarium at Scripps include:
