Karolina Sobecka is an artist and designer who has been working at the intersection of art, science and technology, examining social arrangements that exploit, resist or accommodate technological change. Sobecka’s work has been shown internationally, including at the V&A, The National Art Museum of China, MoMa Film, ZKM, WRO Biennale, Beal Center for Art + Technology, Marfa Dialogues, Science Gallery, Zero1 and ISEA, and has received numerous awards, including from Creative Capital, Rhizome, NYFA, Princess Grace Foundation, Eyebeam, Queens Museum, Vida Art and Artificial Life Awards and Japan Media Arts Festival. Sobecka is the founder of design studio Flightphase and has taught at University of Washington, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Rhode Island School of Design.
