California, with the nation's largest population and economy, is a focus for many of UC San Diego's Scripps Institution of Oceanography research projects. From seismic networks to coastal ocean observing systems to snowpack monitoring and prediction, Scripps researchers work regionally in California to provide long-term observations, tools, and information for local, state and federal agencies, resource managers, industry, policy makers, educators, scientists, and the general public.
