Scripps scientists work to understand ocean circulation and fluid motion, including properties like salinity, temperature and density. Research includes short-term studies of small-scale turbulence and mixing to observation and modeling of large-scale eddies and gyres, as well as surface current and swell height observations used to provide products for public safety, recreation and resource management.
