Useful Facts or Characters: 

Commonly called Venus' girdle.  It is shaped like a wing or ribbon.  It is transparent, or is variable in color.  The comb rows are all on one side of the ribbon, while the mouth is on the other side.

Natural History: 

The unusual body form allows this animal to swim by means of muscular undulation, as well as by using their cilia.
