Distribution: 
Circumglobal, warm waters.
Habitat: 
Epipelagic, shelf waters.
Size: 
Female 0.9-1.7 mm; male 0.9-1.3 mm
Useful Facts or Characters: 

A small copepod similar to Clausocalanus and Pseudocalanus. 1st antennae are slightly longer than total body length and the 5th leg of the female is very small.

Natural History: 

Occurs year round off San Diego and can be more abundant in winter.
