Distribution: 
Central California to the Gulf of California.
Habitat: 
Surface to about 200 m.
Size: 
Up to 250 mm.
Diet: 
Mostly copepods and other small zooplankton.
Useful Facts or Characters: 

Body is oblong, covered with brownish-orange papillae, very delicate.  The body coloration is translucent white, with distinctive orange papillae along the
outer surface.
