All oceans, Mediterranean, Red, Adriatic, Baltic and North Seas.
Size: 
Female 0.3-0.6 mm; male 0.3-0.5 mm
Diet: 
Known to eat nanoplankton trapped on appendicularian houses.
Predators: 
Larval jack mackerel and other fishes.
Useful Facts or Characters: 

Caudal rami with one long seta equal to about the same length as the total body, and one shorter seta equal to about the same length as the urosome.

Natural History: 

Two pairs of caudal setae of unequal length.
