Eric Allen is a Professor of Marine Microbiology in the Center for Marine Biotechnology and Biomedicine at Scripps Oceanography and holds a joint appointment in the Molecular Biology Section in the Division of Biological Sciences at UC San Diego. Research interests in the Allen lab focus on the molecular genetics, genomics, and metagenomics of marine environmental and host-associated microbiomes.
