Master of Advanced Studies (MAS)
The one-year MAS degree is intended for professionals who wish to develop an interdisciplinary career at the interface between ocean sciences and public policy.
Scripps offers a research-based Master of Science degree by thesis for a small number of qualified students. Prospective students should identify a thesis advisor before applying to the program.
The contiguous BS/MS program is only available to current UC San Diego undergraduate students who are enrolled in one of the Scripps department's majors or related fields. Eligible students will apply for the MS portion of the program early in their final undergraduate year and will begin as an MS student immediately upon completing their BS degree.
