On June 13, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is hosting the 25th Annual Roger Revelle Commemorative Lecture, “Equitable Science and Solutions for a Warming World,” at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
Scripps alumna and current Brown University professor Kim Cobb will deliver the lecture, discussing the unique position geoscientists hold in advancing climate justice through transdisciplinary research agendas, along with the benefits and challenges of conducting such research. Cobb also serves as the director of the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society and in 2023 was appointed by the Biden Administration as a member of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
The event will be held in-person on June 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. PDT at the Scripps Seaside Forum, with a virtual streaming option available.
