COURSE DESCRIPTION

Join us for an SBIR Info & Advising Session to learn everything you wanted to know about SBIR funding. This workshop, offered in partnership between The Brink SBDC and the Office of Innovation and Commercialization (OIC) at UC San Diego, is designed for researchers, faculty, and entrepreneurs who have started or are thinking of starting an innovative company. No prior knowledge is necessary. Lunch will be provided. 

This event will cover the basics:

  • What is an SBIR grant
  • Agencies offering SBIR grants
  • Phases and award money
  • Who can apply
  • How to search for a grant 
  • Application overview: Proposal sections
  • Approach to writing
  • Timing and planning
  • 1:1 advising and Q&A with presenters 

COURSE FORMAT  

This session will be in person in the Design and Innovation Building - 1st Floor, Room 151 [The Basement] at UC San Diego, 9510 Innovation Ln, La Jolla, Ca 92093.
