Join the Corporate Alliance team at the Scripps Pier for an in-water demo of Seasats' autonomous surface vehicle, Lightfish. Lightfish products have been deployed to monitor algal blooms, map undersea bathymetry, patrol restricted harbors, and more. In June, a Lightfish completed a fully autonomous mission from San Diego to Hawaii, a voyage that lasted over two months and covered 2,500 miles. Attendees will meet a Lightfish coming in from offshore, take the sticks to drive it around, and then have a close look at it on the pier.
Seasats was founded in 2020, and shortly after completed its first pilot missions in collaboration with an SIO research group. Since then, the company has grown to a team of about 30 people with customers including the National Science Foundation, the University of Washington, Navy Special Warfare, and more. With the Lightfish in production, Seasats is now operating vehicles nearly continuously off the Southern California coast and in other locations around the world.
