Bio

My research interests focus on the hydroclimate of the American West and its implication on the water resources and economy of the region. I am also interested in the atmospheric drivers and societal impacts of extreme weather events (flooding, drought) with the goal of providing stakeholders meaningful information to inform decision making.

Current research involves quantifying the role of summertime precipitation on the water supply of Lake Mead, the 2nd largest reservoir in the United States. As prolonged drought and population growth stress the water resources of the American southwest, improved understanding of storm dynamics and hydrological responses can abet a more resilient water supply.

Before joining the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes (CW3E) at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, I received a BS in Environmental Engineering from UC San Diego and a MS in Environmental Engineering from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a focus on water resources. I am currently a 3rd year PhD student advised by Dr. F.M. Ralph.
