Enjoy a rockin’ sunset this summer at the  Green Flash Concert Series at Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. These unique monthly concerts – presented in partnership with 94/9 FM and sister stations KSON and Sunny 98.1 – are held from 5:30-9 p.m. for music lovers ages 21+. Proceeds support exhibits and educational programming at Birch Aquarium at Scripps.

The concert series, which kicks off May 18, combines live music with panoramic ocean views on the aquarium’s stunning outdoor Tide-Pool Plaza. Savory bites, craft beers, and wines are available for purchase. Keep an eye out for a real “green flash,” a rare optical phenomenon caused by refraction of light as the sun sets on the horizon.

All concerts are general admission and standing room only. The best way to enjoy the concert is with exclusive VIP seating overlooking the stage from the Director’s Deck. For full details, visit aquarium.ucsd.edu.

Admission includes the concert, entrance to all aquarium exhibits, and parking. Green Flash concerts are made possible by Entercom Communications, Rock Bottom Brewery, The French Gourmet, Korbel, San Diego County Toyota Dealers, Stellar Solar, Jackson Design & Remodeling, Think Blue San Diego, and Westfield UTC.
