Engineers replaced a near-shore buoy that is part of Scripps Oceanography's Coastal Data Information Project (CDIP) network on Jan. 7, 2015. CDIP buoys have a battery life of approximately 18 months, requiring frequent monitoring and maintenance. CDIP has a new Twitter feed. Follow the network at @CDIPBuoys.
