Photo of the Week: Surveying into the Sunset

Greg Boyd, a marine technician at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego, measures beach topography north of the Los Peñasquitos Lagoon in San Diego using a push dolly outfitted with GPS. He is part of a field team from the Center for Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation conducting topographic and bathymetric surveys to study beach change, including beach erosion, and sand movement.

The team makes such measurements at locations throughout San Diego County. Photo: Mele Johnson/CCCIA
