Scripps field group tracks beach erosion, sand movement

Greg Boyd, a marine technician at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego, measures beach topography north of the Los Peñasquitos Lagoon in San Diego using a push dolly outfitted with GPS. He is part of a field team from the Center for Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation conducting topographic and bathymetric surveys to study beach change, including beach erosion, and sand movement.
