Bio
Douglas Alden is the Lead Engineer for Center for Western Weather and Weather Extremes (CW3E). His work at CW3E builds on more than three decades of experience providing engineering and field project management to studies in the US and internationally on climate and atmospheric sciences, and physical oceanography. Douglas is a Research & Development Engineer 5. He has a strong background in instrumentation design, observational networks, and the challenges of performing field work and collecting data at remote locations worldwide from the ocean bottom to the stratosphere. Douglas’ passion is the application of modern engineering tools to advance our scientific understanding of the world around us.
