Photo of the Week: Coral Chemistry

Scripps researchers Martín Tresguerres and Davey Kline go shopping for corals in Bocas del Toro, Panama, where they are conducting research on coral cell biology. (Video here.)

The two scientists received a grant from the National Science Foundation to work on a project that combined Tresguerres’ expertise in coral cell biology with Kline’s knowledge of coral ecology as they attempt to determine the impacts of climate change on coral reefs. Scripps researcher Andreas Andersson also collaborated with the team, bringing his expertise in marine biogeochemistry.
