Photo of the Week: Sally Ride Sunrise

Scripps Oceanography research vessel Sally Ride soaks in a colorful sunrise at the Nimitz Marine Facility on San Diego Bay in this photo recently shared by second mate Randy Christian.

The vessel will end the year undergoing some general upkeep to get ready for a busy 2019 expected to take R/V Sally Ride across the Pacific Ocean to Palau, Guam, and Sri Lanka for a variety of research projects involving ocean currents, aerosols, and the monsoons of South Asia.
