Exception to Recruitment-Short Term Exceptions

Short Term Exceptions

An appointment on a temporary basis permissible by policy. To initiate an exception, the appointment must meet one of the following conditions:

  • The appointment is 40% or less, fixed or variable, with an expected duration of 12 months or less.
  • The appointment is 41% to 100% of time, fixed or variable, with an expected duration of 150 calendar days or less.
  • A classified job description must be sent to HR and posted to the Job Description Library for any appointment that exceeds 5 months in duration.
