Duo Two-Step Authentication

Login credentials are more important than ever as we remote work. Duo two-step login initiates once a user has entered their username and password. Two-step login increases account security be preventing anyone but the user from accessing their account, even if the password has been compromised.

Managed Lab Machine Enrollment Form
The following services will be provided on a per machine monthly charge:
Lab computers (computers attached to lab equipment) without any user management or Linux desktop computers. Scripps IT will ensure that the managed computer will remain in compliance with UCSD Network Security Standards by installing routine security patches, firewall management and attending to virus abatement.

Note: MLM enrollment is paid by an individual lab, PI, or group. Additionally, user permissions are set (and vary) by group. It is recommended that users exercise caution and ensure software is from a reputable source prior to installation.

We are happy to announce that SIO has joined the UCSD Microsoft Consolidated Campus Agreement (MCCA). All SIO employees (both academic and staff) are now licensed to install the Microsoft Office applications for free.
To request access to the Office installers, please fill out the web form here. Note that we are asking everyone to also install the Qualys security package at the same time, as it will allow us to increase our compliance profile for our funding agencies

Using our installers rather than the generic ones available from the campus site allows us to determine immediately that the agents have been installed on SIO systems. Otherwise, they get mixed in with all the other UC San Diego systems.
