Scripps Campus CMS

The scripps.ucsd.edu is developed on Drupal content management system (CMS), a flexible, scalable and secure framework which provides a centrally managed and branded content management platform for Scripps departments, offices and units.

Directory Listings
The directory is the starting place to find anyone at Scripps providing email addresses, telephone numbers, office locations, and affiliations. 

Your title and contact information is pulled from from the UC San Diego campus directory, so any corrections or updates need to be made there. To request changes:

  • Go to the UC San Diego People Search and search for yourself.
  • From the Results Detail screen (displays only your information), click “Request Changes to the directory information above”
  • Login with your Single Sign-On “Business Systems” login. (Note: This is different from your email login. To register for Business Systems, follow the instructions available on Blink

Scripps Profiles
If you teach, study, or work at Scripps Oceanography, you will likely also have a profile page on the website. By default, these  profiles only include the same contact information as your directory listing.

However, you can submit a request to update the following:

  • Profile photo
  • Brief bio
  • Research interests
  • Degree information
  • Link to an external website.

    * Research Topics are managed by your business office via Scripps People DB

WordPress Websites

Basic WordPress websites are provided at no charge to Principal Investigators or staff members managing: lab, project or expedition sites.

These sites can range from a few simple pages to blogs to more elaborate structures.

Hosting for Static HTML Sites

Scripps IT provides 10gb disk space for individual legacy static html sites on the scrippshtml.ucsd.edu server.

Submit a request for a static HTML site to siohelp@ucsd.eduand provide the following:

Site administrator name(s) with corresponding UC San Diego email account(s) Existing domain (if available) .zip file of your site

Scripps People DB

Scripps People DB contains restricted data which serves multiple business functions.  It provides a central location of Scripps-related data across all divisions, Sea Grant, and Birch Aquarium as well as Affiliates and visitors.

Scripps Training

Scripps Training contains the status of assigned mandatory training data. Scripps training integrates with Scripps People DB to enable bulk notifications for both assignees and work supervisors. Therefore, ensuring People DB data is up to data is crucial.

Scripps Research Profiles

(WordPress) Web sites for Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego faculty and graduate students, including biographies, publications, and research interests.

Scripps Research Profiles are administered by Scripps Institution of Oceanography powered by WordPress.

To request your Research Profile, submit a request to sioweb@ucsd.edu
*Please allow up to two weeks to complete your request.

The publications feed on Scripps Research Profiles is restricted to peer-reviewed publications for the specific purpose of faculty reviews. This feed is updated based on a weekly alert from Web of Science which may take weeks to months to index a paper, depending on the journal.

To expedite the process, you may also let us know about a new paper by emailing the DOI and other relevant information to scrippsscholarspubs@ucsd.edu.
